Ignite EUNIS Event

Ignite EUNIS is a free event open to all EUNIS attendees and RS3G and CEN workshop attendees in Ireland’s most visited attraction, the Guinness Storehouse, from 19:30 on Tuesday 14 June.
The purpose of the event is to meet and mingle and to share your experiences and aspirations for EUNIS.

Gala Dinner

Date: Thursday 16th June 2011
Time: Pre-Dinner Drinks, Pavillion Bar, Trinity College – 19:30
           Dinner, Dining Hall, Trinity College – 20:30
Venue: Dining Hall, Trinity College
The gala dinner will be held in the historic Dining Hall of Trinity College. Built c.1750, the Dining Hall houses paintings of all the past provosts and chancellors of Trinity College. The Hall was designed by Richard Cassels, who also designed Leinster House (the building which houses the Oireachtas, the national parliament of Ireland). Delegates will enjoy a pre-dinner drinks reception and a three course dinner. This will will be followed by traditional Irish music and contemporary ‘Riverdance’ style dancing.

• Dublin City Tour (Hop on Hop off)

This fun and friendly 90-minute tour departs every 8 to 20 minutes throughout the day and stops along the tour route include Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Kilmainham Gaol and the Old Jameson Distillery. Visitor attraction discounts & exclusive offers are available on receipt of your ticket.

Details: This tour ticket is valid from Tuesday 14th to Saturday 18th of June, with the first tour departing at 09.30hrs. The tour is 90mins in duration
Cost: €15 per person.
Tour departs from: Stop 1, 14 Upper O’Connell St. (outside Dublin Tourism). (Delegates can also join the tour at a stop outside Trinity College). The tour departs every 8 – 20 minutes

• Newgrange Tour

This magnificent UNISCO World heritage site is dated 3,200BC and is one of the oldest and largest Neolithic burial chambers in Europe predating the Egyptian pyramids! As part of your experience you will be taken on a guided tour of the actual tombs of Newgrange. Your tour will then pass the Boyne Valley, site of the famous Battle of the Boyne, before visiting Monasterboice, home to some of the best examples of high crosses in Ireland.

Times: Tour departs at 10.00hrs and returns at 17.00 hrs approx.

• Wicklow Mountains Valley and Lake Tour

Departing daily this tour will take the scenic route out of Dublin through the Wicklow Gap and the Blessington Lakes, including a photo stop en route. The tour continues to the pretty village of Avoca, with time to enjoy the Avoca Handweavers and its craft shop, reputed to be the oldest weaving mill in Ireland. Then on to the highlight of the tour, Glendalough “glen of the two lakes” a truly spellbinding place, home to the impressive 10th century Round Tower.

• Dublin Bay & Castle Tour

Wander through the beautiful estate of Malahide Castle and absorb the fresh sea breeze at the vibrant fishing village of Howth where we feed the seals!

Your visit to Malahide will include a live-guided tour* of the castle with time to wander around the craft shops and castle grounds, which span some 250 acres. Continue with a scenic coastal drive along Dublin’s spectacular northern shores to the fishing village of Howth. Take time to feed the seals or wander through the picturesque village with its charming restaurants and beautiful marina.
